If you’ve just had a big release or a viral moment and don't see the data in Tone yet, don’t worry—this is completely normal! There is a standard delay in how data moves through the music industry.

⏳ The Data Journey

There is often a significant delay between when a song is streamed (the "sale") and when streaming platforms (like Spotify or Apple Music) provide that information to distributors and labels.

• Reporting Lag: It can take several weeks or even months for platforms to report final numbers to your label.
• Publication: Once Tone receives the data from your label, it will appear on your Insights page immediately after your label approves and publishes the royalty statement for that specific period.

📊 How to check reporting dates

If you want to see the specific timeframe of the data currently in your portal, you can dig a little deeper:

1. Navigate to your Insights page.
2. Download the sales information.
3. Look at the "Sales" column. This will give you a clear idea of when those sales were officially reported to your label.

Remember: The date in your report is the reporting date, not the exact day the stream occurred. We are always working with labels to get this information to you as quickly as possible!
