📑 Understanding Your Royalty Statement
We know royalty statements can be confusing, so we’ve simplified the key terms for you. If you still have questions after reading this, please reach out to [email protected] for more clarification.
💰 Balancing Your Account
- Opening Balance: This is the closing balance carried over from your previous statement. If this is your first statement with the label (Inception to Date), your opening balance will be $0.
- New Balance: This is the amount you will actually receive from this statement.

- Unrecouped: If your New Balance is negative, this means the contract has not yet earned back its advanced costs. The percentage shown is how much has been paid off so far—once it hits 100%, you are fully recouped!

📈 Income & Profit Breakdown
- Digital Income: This represents your contract’s share of the digital revenue (streaming, downloads) earned during this period.

- Net Profit Deal: If your contract is a Net Profit share, this is your income after your specific royalty percentage has been applied to the net profit.

- Sales Highlights: These figures show the revenue generated by each release across specific platforms (like Spotify), tiers (like Spotify Premium), and countries.

- Sales Breakdown: This gives you a granular look at exactly how much was earned from each platform, the specific time period, and the service tier.
