To calculate royalties accurately, you need clean, complete catalog metadata — including both tracks and releases, and their relationships to one another. Tone makes this process clear and intuitive in our user-friendly royalty management platform. This guide walks through how to add and manage metadata in the Library.

🔍 Where to Manage Catalog Metadata

1. Go to the Library tab from the Tone homepage
2. You’ll land in the Tracks section
3. Below, you’ll find the Releases tab
4. Link tracks ➡️ releases
5. Link tracks and releases ➡️ contracts (later step)

🎵 Track Metadata Management

Tracks are the foundational catalog unit — every release is made up of tracks.

🧾 Spreadsheet View

• Use this view to bulk enter metadata by copy/pasting from other tools

• You'll see required fields (e.g. ISRC, Track Artist) clearly flagged

• See the Track Status:

  When the status is In Use the Track is ready for your next royalties run.
