🌍 International Tax Requirements (Non-U.S. Residents)
If you are a nonresident alien living outside of the United States, there are a few specific steps you need to take in your Payee Settings to ensure your tax information is compliant and you are paid correctly (if you are a U.S. citizen, regardless of where you live, you will fill out the W-9 form).
📝 Selecting the Right Form
In the Taxpayer Information section, you will need to choose one of the following based on your status:
- Individual: Select the 2nd option to fill out Form W-8BEN.
- Business Entity: Select the 3rd option to fill out Form W-8BEN-E.

🏛️ Claiming Treaty Benefits
If your country has a tax treaty with the U.S., you may be eligible for a reduced rate of withholding.
- Tax ID: To claim these benefits, you must submit either a U.S. Tax Identification Number (TIN) or your local foreign Tax Identification Number.
- Date Format: Please remember to use the U.S. date format: MM/DD/YYYY (Month/Day/Year).
