💸 How to Fund Royalty Payments in Tone

One of Tone’s most powerful features is integrated royalty funding and payouts — making it easy to pay artists, producers, and other rightsholders directly from the Tone platform.

Once a royalty period has been approved in Tone, you can choose to initiate payments on any or all of the generated royalty statements.

Tone Tip! You are never required to fund all statements at once. With Tone, you control who, what, and when you pay. Roll royalties forward, pay selectively, or wait until a statement needs to be viewed — it’s up to you.

🧭 Where to Start Your Integrated Royalty Payment Workflow

To fund royalty payments in Tone:

1. Log in to the Tone app

2. Click Royalties in the top menu

3. Locate the approved royalty period you'd like to fund

4. Click Create a payout to begin

   ⚡️ Only periods that are fully approved will show a “Create a payout” button.

✅ Steps to Fund Royalty Statements in Tone

Once you're in the funding flow:

1. Select which statements to fund

   Use “Fund all” toggle to fund all statements.

   Use “Fund verified payees” toggle to fund all statements whose payees have verified bank and tax information with Tone.

   Or manually toggle on the statements you’d like to pay out.

2. Click “Fund [#] statements” at the bottom of the page

   This will take you to the payment authorization step.

3. Enter your name and email address

   Then, search for your bank using the Plaid-powered connection flow.
