The Contracts & Catalog tool in the Tone app is an essential resource for delivering metadata and contract terms to our Royalty Services team, so that they can process your royalties quickly and accurately.

Delivering all that data is a big task, and we want to help make it as clear as possible for your team. Below you’ll find descriptions for all of the fields in the Contracts & Catalog tool to help you navigate!

1. Add tracks

Track Title — The title of the track (song).

ISRC — The International Standard Recording Code is a unique 12-character identifier used to distinguish an individual sound recording.

Version — The version of the song that is being listed here. For example, if it is the original version, you can leave this field blank. If it is a secondary version you can enter that here, e.g. explicit, radio edit.

Track Artist — The lead artist associated with this track.

Label — The label responsible for the release of this track.

P Line — The “P line” stands for “performing rights,” and it refers to the copyright information for the composition of the song. This includes the songwriters, the music publisher, and any other parties who hold rights to the composition of the song.

Duration (mm:ss) — The length of the track in minutes:seconds format. Must be greater than 0:00.

Additional Context & Details — Please enter any important information about this track that has not been entered in the previous columns.

Linked Contracts — This column is automatically filled with the # of contracts that are currently linked to the track. Sales generated by the track will abide by the rates and terms in these contracts.

Status — In this column, you can click on the submit button to send your data to our team, click “Undo submission” to revert, or see that a track is currently “In Use” in your royalty periods.

2. Add releases

Release Title — The title of the release. A Release is an EP or Album.

Version — The version of the release that is being listed here. For example, if it is the original version, you can leave this field blank. If it is a secondary version you can enter that here (e.g. explicit, radio edit).

Release Artist — The lead artist associated with this release.
